China Shoto (AIM:CHNS), a leading Chinese producer of industrial batteries and power supply systems, today announces that its subsidiary Jiangsu Fuste Power Supply Co., Ltd ('Fuste') has signed a sales contract to supply Reliance Communications, a leading telecommunications operator in India, with 2V AGM batteries for broadband telecommunication service (BTS) applications. The order has an estimated value of US$10 million and is expected to be delivered before the end of this year.

 

Reliance Communications is India's leading integrated telecoms company providing wireless, broadband, rural communication, national and international telephone and data services as well as telecoms infrastructure for over 35 million customers.

 

Cao Guifa, Chairman of China Shoto plc, said: "This latest contract allows China Shoto to take advantage of the huge opportunity in India's booming telecoms market.  We have been growing with a number of contracts with telecoms providers, which strengthen the foundations for China Shoto's financial prospects."

 

 

 

 

 

 

China Shoto is one of China's leading companies engaged in the design, development and manufacture of reserve power and motive lead acid rechargeable batteries, together with a range of relating products including charger, power equipment and battery accessories.

Ltd (FTD) a steam turbine designer and refurbishment company.  As demand for electricity in China continues to rise, the requirement for increased capacity has lead to strong demand for improving the efficiency and output of existing steam turbines as well as demand for new build turbines. 

 

The Group has an extensive research and development facility and also has strong relationships with Chinese universities.  Research projects include the improvement existing products as well as the development of super capacitors, lithium batteries and direct methanol fuel cells.  China Shoto over 90 patents registered in China. 

 

With extensive modern facilities in Taizhou City, some 220 kilometres from Shanghai, a manufacturing facility in Beijing and a large research and development facility in Nanjing, China Shoto has a leading position in the fast growing global reserve power and rechargeable battery market.
